As a child I followed
my parents
watching listening learning
becoming
me.
As an adult I led my children
teaching listening learning
evolving.
In mid life I observe
my elders becoming
dependent needing being
unsure in this shifting world.
These generations
shoulder to shoulder stand
roots touching
branches intertwined
reaching for the sky.
